In my experience, if the WoT wrapper works, then wine will work worse, the only time wine and things like play on Mac will be better is if the Official Mac wrapper doesn't work at all. The official Mac wrapper from war gaming (and developed by codeweavers) is a highly polished wine wrapper that has had all the non essentials thrown away and is completely tweaked to be 100% geared towards WoT. If you choose "not on list" and create a generic wrapper it's really no different than just installing wine on your computer from wineHQ and installing WoT.

If you dead-set on running the WoT Tweaker - why not just install MS Windows using Boot Camp and run natively? The WoT Mac Wrapper runs at a higher FPS  than the native game in MS Windows over my WiFi connection. The number of individuals running Linux, Wine and World Of Tanks is significantly larger than the number running macOS, Wine and World of Tanks and you should get better support/guidance. If you are dead-set on running the WoT Tweaker then I recommend that you install Linux and then World of Tanks using Wine. Getting World of Tanks running using Wine on macOS is not for the faint of heart.Īs for PlayonMac - I tried - it did not work well - went back to the WoT Mac Wrapper.
